In 2005, Material Culture commissioned the self-taught artist Mr. Imagination (aka Gregory Warmack) to “build a throne” from one of our West African Asoso chairs. Over the course of a week, from morning to evening, he tirelessly hammered away at his signature bottlecaps and worked in a variety of media to produce a masterpiece that never fails to delight visitors to the store.
