2026: THE YEAR OF THE RUG —
A YEARLONG SALE

Following our 30-year milestone sale—The Fruits of Our Labor—we are doing something unprecedented. At Material Culture, 2026 is not just a theme—it is a sale.

We are declaring the entire year THE YEAR OF THE RUG: a continuous, showroom-wide offering of antique, vintage, and modern handmade rugs at exceptionally low prices across our entire inventory. This is not a select group. This is everything.

In a time of global uncertainty, we return to what matters most—the home. A place of refuge, comfort, and renewal. And at the center of that space is the rug: grounding, warming, and transforming the rooms where we live our daily lives. This year, we are opening the doors wide.

Rugs from across the great weaving traditions—Anatolia, Persia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, India, China, and beyond—are being offered at levels that would have been difficult to imagine even a few years ago. Not because of compromise, but because of opportunity.

I can say this with absolute certainty. I’ve been working with rugs for 47 years—since 1979, when I bought my first one. Over nearly five decades, I’ve seen markets rise and fall, tastes shift, and entire generations of collections come and go. There has never been a more opportune moment than right now to buy a great rug—both in terms of price and in terms of selection.

It is no secret that the baby boomer generation traveled widely and brought home extraordinary material—rugs of real character, depth, and history. Today, many of those collections are being thoughtfully deaccessioned. What we are seeing now is nothing short of a return.

A vast wave of rugs, carefully collected over decades, is coming back into the marketplace. We are helping to bring this material forward—creating a moment of unprecedented availability and value, and connecting these works with a new generation of homes. The result is lower prices across the board, a vast and constantly changing selection, and access to truly handmade, one-of-a-kind rugs at levels not seen in decades. — George Jevremović

Within this extraordinary field, some pieces stand out even further. We call them DOG STAR DEALS—named for the brightest star in the night sky, marking the brightest values in the room. Follow the star.

For younger buyers, it is the ideal time to bring a first real rug into the home. For designers, it is an open field of possibility. For seasoned collectors, it is a rare moment where quality and price align.

This is not a limited promotion. It is a sustained commitment—a yearlong sale across the entire showroom, and an open invitation.
